This week's Pittsburgh Business Times cover story is a subject that you're going to be hearing a lot more about in the future, especially here in Appalachia: Batteries.

When I began work on this story, back in late November, the story was sparked by Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc., a local manufacturer of batteries, which is a great story on its own. But then over the course of the next several months, the story began to expand: Form Energy made their announcement, Stratus Materials Inc. emerged from stealth mode and then I got reintroduced to some of the stuff that Matthews International was doing.

Anyway, it's a long way of saying that Pittsburgh and West Virginia are rapidly becoming a place where battery development and production will continue to take place. #batteries
