Today’s headline in The Australian is troubling indeed. “ The incidence of mental ill-health in young people has risen 50% in 15 years”.
But support, help, kindness and determination is all around us. I am particularly enthused about the partnering of Alon Greenspan and team of Mind Ventures with the Black Dog Institute. A much needed intersection of capital and cause. ‘PsychTech’ , if I may use that term, is going to be pivotal in addressing and arresting the surging statistics of mental ill-health.
I intend to support Alon as much as possible in this journey. Whilst my psychologist’s shingle is a little dusty, I have been around pyschological services for a long long time. And I admire how Alon and his board and advisors are looking to meld commerce, creatively and sustainably, with mental health. There is no time to loose.
