Paul Murphy

Paul Murphy is a Co-Founder of MarineSitu, a company focused on real-time, ML-driven environmental monitoring for marine energy and hydropower. He previously worked as a Research Scientist / Engineer III at the Pacific Marine Energy Center from April 2015 to June 2022.1 During his time at PMEC, Murphy studied the effects of wave and tidal energy devices on marine animals and worked on projects such as the Adaptable Monitoring Package (AMP) and Drifting Acoustic Instrumentation System (DAISY).1

Murphy holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington (2013-2015) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University (2007-2012).1 His work at MarineSitu, which he co-founded in January 2019, involves commercializing the Adaptable Monitoring Package and related technologies to provide affordable environmental monitoring solutions for the marine energy industry.1
