Highlights
Had a great time earlier today talking at Data Council in Austin about data governance, specifically the challenges and strategies that work when bringing a complex, tangled web of data under control.
We've found over and over again that the biggest challenges to data governance that enables impactful ML aren't technical - they are deeply human, organizational, and interpersonal. It's a simple problem, but not an easy one. I was truly floored by the number of people who came up to me afterwards asking nuanced questions about how to measure and convey the importance of this work to stakeholders in their organizations.
In this talk I've outlined six rules that we've used at ZipRecruiter to move us towards a mature, proactive data strategy and a solid base on which to build our products. Slides are available at https://lnkd.in/g6sRwcTS -- and if you're working on something like this, please reach out! I'd love to talk with you.

I'm hiring for a Senior PM to join my team! We own all things job seeker data, from ML that infers key user attributes to high-impact data products that help the rest of the company make data-driven decisions.
With all the changes to how we work in the last year, it's a uniquely exciting time to be in the hiring business, and ZipRecruiter is a uniquely interesting company within that space. Hit me up if you'd like to talk about this role or any others at Zip!
