I hadn't realised how excited I would be about our launch event to meet with our first community members in person in Berlin today until I got onto the train this morning.
Our community is at the heart of everything. It has been incredible to hear their stories and understand their journeys in setting up their own businesses.
Success for any entrepreneur is hard. It is especially hard if you're a woman, LGBTQ+ or coming from any under-represented, diverse background.
We have spoken at length about the challenges: bias, little or no representation across all levels, lack of access to funding, no network of peers and role models to lean into.
We, the founding team at Txeya, have all all been lucky to have had successful "first lives" in our careers. However, we know how hard it has been get to here and we wanted to build a platform that helped people from our tribes succeed in business.
Their success is our success. And today we meet for the first time.
Finally, I'd like to make a virtual special toast to my beloved brother Christian who passed away two years ago. Today would have been his 61st birthday. You were the big inspiration behind Txeya. You were not only my big brother but also a role model and mentor. I love you always, and thank you.
