Almost two and half hours of interview with the CEO of OpenAI (ChatGPT). A long conversation, but still one very much interesting and I really recommend curious minds out there to watch it all.

Sam Altman talks about the value of putting out there a still very imperfect AI, very much subject to criticism but the learnings and improvements vastly outweigh any criticism. Improving ChatGPT has been a very iterative process, very much in line with what we would call design thinking best practices I would add, with delight.

Sam talks about moral lines. Who decides the "personality" of ChatGPT when someone asks it "How to kill people..." or any other controversial moral questions? So interesting! There's actually nuances for different countries - who's deciding, approving, requesting this?, I would ask. It is a very crucial philosophical angle as it might deeply shape how people will perceive the world as more and more users get to look at AI as a source of truth.

Can these AI models evolve to a level where they might destroy humans? Anyone involved in launching new software knows how limited current technology actually is but it is better to consider this possibility and incorporate some sort of protections in these AI models - it comes back to a philosophical discussion about the greater good. Fascinating.

Will AI make human work obsolete? Sam points out that in human history we always tended to use new tools to make a better world and he sees a bright future ahead with ever improving AI models. Some jobs will be much more affected than others but that's just society evolving. All you futurists out there didn't this coming so soon, not even a year ago, did you? I'm sure you share my surprise at how quickly these models evolved :)

Make a pause on your netflix/HBO binging and watch this interview, there's so much in it, very thought provoking.
