Penn Vector Core at University of Pennsylvania

Penn Vector, formerly known as the Penn Vector Core at the University of Pennsylvania, is a renowned full-service viral vector core facility with over a decade of experience in producing viral-based vectors.

The facility serves both non-profit institutions and academic investigators globally, offering services such as provision of AAV, adenoviral, and lentiviral based vectors, production of custom vectors tailored to investigator needs, and consultation on vector design and selection.

Penn Vector Core is a vital technological resource for researchers interested in utilizing viral vectors for gene transfer in preclinical studies and basic research, aiming to advance understanding of gene function and therapeutic vector development.

The facility provides services including ready-made reporter gene vectors, serotype/pseudotype kits for pilot studies, plasmid DNA production for custom vectors, quality control measures such as full sequence analysis, and a diverse range of AAV serotypes.

Specializing in novel AAV serotype vectors, Penn Vector Core boasts extensive experience in producing novel serotypes initially developed at Penn, particularly AAV1, 7, 8, 9, and rh10, originally isolated in Dr. James M. Wilson's laboratory.
