Do you know what your natural Leadership Style is? It took me years to figure out mine, and in recent years I've continued to evolve it.

As a new leader, consistency is what it's all about. Before trying to adapt to every situation, focus on finding your authentic leadership style—your “home base.”

Are you naturally Directive, thriving on clarity and quick decisions? Or perhaps you’re more of a Coaching leader, helping your team grow and develop? Maybe you lean towards Transformational leadership, inspiring change and innovation, or Democratic, valuing input and collaboration.

Whatever your style, the key thing early in your career, is to be consistent. Your team needs to know what to expect from you, you need to build your "identity" as a leader. Plus, once you’ve nailed your home base, adapting to different situations becomes easier.

What’s your natural style? And how have you built consistency around it? 👇

Hey folks.

Since the start of the year, I've been heads-down with a great team working on something, and it's time to begin to share what we’ve been up to.

Today, I’m excited to announce Parafoil, an AI product designed to help people managers grow into better leaders. We’re entering the private beta phase soon, so we are opening up the waitlist for early access. If you’re curious to see what we’re building, you can join (I'll put the link to parafoil dot co in the comments) and be among the first to try this early version out.

Starting your first day as a people manager often comes with little support. You might get "management training"—classroom sessions led by those unfamiliar with your business, filled with frameworks and awkward role plays. But we know real leadership isn't about just being knowledgeable; it's about behavior, understanding how you're perceived and getting the feedback you need to continuously improve. Many struggle with imposter syndrome, unsure who to trust for honest feedback, or question if their IC skills translate to managing people effectively. In fact, 82% of managers feel underprepared for the transition, despite having good intentions and a desire to excel.

Informed by dozens of conversations with newly-minted people managers, and built on nearly a decade of experience working with some of the world's greatest business leaders, Parafoil uses proven behavioral science and multi-modal data to measure how you show up in meetings with your team. It privately and securely analyzes these interactions, offering personalized advice so you can improve every day.

Ultimately, I can’t wait to see how Parafoil helps managers everywhere lead more effectively and grow professionally. I hope you'll sign up to try it out, and tell your friends and colleagues about it too.
