Peter Austin is an accomplished linguist with a focus on documenting and describing endangered languages. He studied Japanese and Linguistics at The Australian National University, where he also earned his PhD in Linguistics. He has held various prestigious positions throughout his career, including the Marit Rausing Chair in Field Linguistics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London, Visiting Researcher at the University of Oxford, and Director of the Endangered Languages Academic Programme at SOAS.
