Highlights
🤔 Do you like the idea of using animation to explain and share your research but you don't know where to start?
Well, you're in luck!
We've created a webinar for just that reason.
It's a 30 minute talk that we've designed to help researchers and research comms teams understand what it takes to make an animation about their work.
It covers…
❓ What to expect: the six phase production process from discovery to delivery. 💷 How much an animation costs. ⏱ How long the process takes. 🖥 How to share your animation when it’s done. 📈 How to include budget for an animation in grant applications
We've been delivering the webinar to universities and research groups over the past six months (free of charge, I might add!) and we're currently taking bookings for sessions from September onwards.
If you think the researchers and comms folk at your institute could benefit from hearing about this, all you need to do is DM me and we can book something in.

Not another post about generative AI 🤦♂️
I’m afraid so! But this one’s not about ChatGPT’s latest upgrade or prompt engineering tips.
It’s about something way more important: why every research organisation needs to be thinking urgently about how to guide and support its comms teams around the use of AI tools.
On the latest episode of the #ResearchComms podcast I sat down with some of the University of Cambridge digital communications team - Amy Mollett, Barney Brown and William Kerslake - to hear the story of how they developed Cambridge’s own AI guidelines.
Their process involved lots of consultation with teams across the university to understand how AI is currently being used there, what the risks are, and how people feel about AI, both the good and the bad.
You can read some of the highlights of that conversation over on our substack newsletter or take a listen to the full podcast on Spotify or Apple podcasts, or wherever else you get your audio fix.
Go check it out. And let us know what you think for a chance to win a copy of our latest Book of the Month recommendation!
