Peter Coughlan

Accelerating biodiversity & climate action, equitably

Peter Coughlan is a professional working at the intersection of design, systems thinking, transformation, and regeneration with a focus on accelerating capital flow to areas impacted by climate change and biodiversity loss.

He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from UCLA, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe, an Ed.M. in Teaching English as a Second Language from Boston University, and a B.A. in English Literature from Trinity College-Hartford.

Throughout his career, Peter has been part of various prominent organizations where he excelled in different roles. He was a Co-Founder at Hasten Regeneration, a Partner at Now Partners (formerly BEconomy Partners), an Affiliate at the Institute for the Future, an Organization Design and Systems Change Consultant at Saltus Consulting LLC, Core Faculty in the Organization Systems Renewal Program at Pinchot, and held multiple roles at IDEO such as Partner, Co-lead of the Transformation Practice, Studio Leader, Human Factors Specialist, and Design Researcher. Additionally, he worked as a Design Researcher at Nissan Design and as a Design Research Contractor at Doblin Group.
