Petra DEMARIN is a seasoned professional with fifteen years of global experience in the public and private sectors, specializing in building successful multi-stakeholder partnerships for sustainable development with an emphasis on disaster management.

She holds a diverse educational background including a Master’s Degree in Development Management from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a Master’s Degree in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum Global Leadership Fellowship, and a Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Toronto - University of Trinity College.

With a rich professional history, Petra has held key roles such as Senior Advisor in Humanitarian Diplomacy and Inter-Agency Engagement at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Senior Officer in Multilateral & IFI Partnerships at IFRC, and Senior Humanitarian Affairs Officer at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the UN in Geneva.

Her experience extends to organizations like the World Economic Forum, where she served as Associate Director in International Development Initiatives and as a Senior Project Manager focusing on Disaster Resource Partnership as part of the Global Leadership Fellowship.

Furthermore, Petra has contributed to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as an Early Recovery Advisor and a Training Programme Analyst, and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as a Humanitarian Training Programme Analyst.
