Philip Aaronson

Reader in Pharmacology at King's College London

Philip Aaronson is a Reader in Pharmacology & Therapeutics at King's College London with over 35 years of experience as a biomedical scientist.

He received his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Miami in 1980 and has been a faculty member at King's College London for 16 years.

His research primarily focuses on mechanisms of regulation of smooth muscle contraction, specifically hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction and the effects of hydrogen sulfide on pulmonary arteries.

Apart from research, Philip Aaronson is actively engaged in teaching medical and biomedical science students, and serves as the Exam Co-ordinator for the first year of the medical program at King's.

He holds a BA in Chemistry from Williams College.
