Phil Delbourgo

SVP Design at Vox Media, Inc.

Phil Delbourgo was a design leader and creative executive in media.1 He lived in Brooklyn, NY, with his furniture, books, and non-stick pans.1 Delbourgo was the SVP of Design at Voxmedia, where he oversaw the design team and contributed to the new media platform for Voxmedia's websites.1 This involved a new brand language, home page design, and improved reading experience throughout the site.1

At Vox Media, Delbourgo helped evolve the company from a leading digital publisher to a diversified modern media company, expanding to podcasting, TV, and building products that support media businesses.1 In 2019, he and his team examined Vox Media's brand and developed a bold and modern brand identity in collaboration with New York’s Triboro Design studio.1 The new logo was designed from the foundation of the three letterforms that form the word Vox—a triangle, a circle, and a square.1

Before Vox Media, Phil Delbourgo co-founded Big Fat TV with Holly Hurwitz Chasin and launched E! in the nineties.12 Delbourgo shaped the identities of some of the leading brands in entertainment and television and oversaw the creation or rebranding of over half a dozen media brands.1 He also co-founded ACT/ART, a non-profit dedicated to social impact through art.1

Phil Delbourgo passed away after a sudden brief illness.3
