Philip Gradwell is a seasoned economist specializing in data analytics and insights for businesses and governments aiming to establish new industries, with a current focus on cryptocurrency as the Head of Economics at Tether.

With a background as the Chief Economist at Chainalysis and experience leading diverse teams in product development, data science, research, and policy, Philip has played a pivotal role in shaping the use of on-chain data by Central Banks and Financial Regulators to understand cryptocurrency activities.

During his tenure at Chainalysis, Philip spearheaded the development of innovative metrics and workflows to analyze on-chain user behavior, crafted industry-leading approaches for macro analysis of blockchain data, and contributed to the enhancement of Chainalysis's technology through the development of blockchain tracing algorithms.

Philip Gradwell's academic journey includes studying Philosophy, Politics & Economics at the University of Oxford, pursuing a Master's Degree in Economics at UCL, and completing his education at Sixth Form College, Farnborough.
