On Wednesday, I had the joy of hosting a dinner at my home, where strangers became friends over shared stories, laughter, and delicious food. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of coming together with kindness and patience and opening ourselves up to new connections.

I was especially thrilled to have my son, Kes Lilani, a renowned chef, visiting from the Netherlands. His incredible skill shone through in every delectable dish he prepared as part of his nine-dish menu while I humbly added a little touch of Indian flavour to the table. Watching his creativity in the kitchen is always such a treat!

There’s something magical about how food brings people together. Virginia Woolf once wrote, “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well”, and I could not agree more! Sharing a meal breaks down barriers, opens hearts, and reminds us of the joy of genuinely listening and feeling heard.

Thank you to all the wonderful souls who brought their warmth and made the day unforgettable!
