Lecturer: Teaching and Learning for Built Environment disciplines (Faculty of Architecture, Building & Planning, UoM)

Dr. Pippa Soccio is a passionate Lecturer in Teaching and Learning at the University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning (ABP). She is an ABP Alumna with extensive experience in the field.

Pippa holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Architecture (Building Science) along with two undergraduate degrees in Architecture. Her expertise lies in effective teaching and learning methodologies within the built environment.

During her time as a Research Fellow with the Learning Environments Applied Research Network (LEaRN), Pippa managed a groundbreaking project, Towards Effective Learning Environments (TELE), focusing on evaluating learning spaces in schools.

Pippa's research in developing a post occupancy evaluation tool for indoor environment quality in schools highlights her commitment to improving educational spaces for enhanced teaching and learning outcomes.

In addition to her academic role, Pippa is actively engaged in architectural design projects, with a particular interest in sustainable housing design and multi-generational living solutions.

Her educational background includes a Fellowship Program at the Centre for Sustainability Leadership, a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching, and various degrees from the University of Melbourne and other institutions in Darwin.

Pippa's diverse career spans roles as a Lecturer, Research Fellow, IEQ consultant, Architectural Graduate, and Subject Coordinator, showcasing her versatility and expertise in the field.

She continues to contribute to the field of architecture through her teaching, research, and practical design projects, emphasizing a holistic approach to creating effective and sustainable built environments.
