As yesterday marked the end of the FY24 fiscal year, I officially rolled off of my role as the FY24 Chair of the #WELocalAdvisoryBoard (LAB) under #SWE. FY24 was a unique year for LAB with a lot of system and process changes as well as delays introduced by external factors. Navigating through these challenges and delivering 3 successful US WE Local conferences with record breaking attendance (522 people registered in Las Vegas, 851 in Baltimore, and 373 in Witchita) would not have been possible without the extraordinary teamwork that took place within the WE Local Leadership, LAB and Local Host Committees (LHC). The challenges we faced have generated many important improvement opportunities - but the changes were crucial to position SWE and WE Local for a better future. As my dear friend and the FY25 LAB Chair Sandra Mandawe Paglieroni pointed out, we weathered the storm very well and produced the results that were expected of us. I am so excited for the amazing things that the #FY25 #WELocalAdvisoryBoard will be bringing to us under Sandra's leadership.
The knowledge, talent, and kindness within this organization have left a lasting impression on me, and I am particularly thankful to the WE Local leadership team Jennifer Abman Scott and Dolores Mannella and their continuous support and numerous opportunities that have enabled me to grow both professionally and personally. I shall carry with me these invaluable learnings and cherished relationships from this team. So, while I bid farewell (knowing I am always just an email or phone call away), I look forward to the possibility of crossing paths and collaborating with the FY24 WELocal team again in the future!
