Highlights
Late post... #Afrotech last week was a vibe! There is so much to say about it, but I'll try to summarize a few of the highlights.
➡ I always have the best time hanging out and spending time in the company of my #AfroChime coworkers. Thanks to Chime for sponsoring this opportunity. Thanks Dakota Betts and Erica Johnson (she/her) for hosting an amazing dinner and to the whole crew for being the best conference partners.
➡ It was awesome connecting with /dev/color community, listening to Rhonda Allen speak at the Concrete Connections event and seeing in person some of the folks I have not seeing in years or have met only virtually.
➡ I had a lot of fun at the Nextplay LIVE event and super proud to see my ex-coworker Courtney Clavon in action, doing what she does best, making sure people get to connect with each other in a real and authentic way.
➡ I enjoyed several amazing talks from people I already admire like Uriridiakoghene (Ulili) Onovakpuri who talked about the importance of Investing in Health Initiatives, and other people who I heard for the first time and left a big impression on me like Bianca Maxwell Harris who talked about using Storytelling and Imagination to Ship Product and Ideas, and Jason Lee discussing Opportunities for Fintech Disruption, saying great things about Chime and being super friendly when I said hi after his session.
➡ The Women's Summit was wonderful, all the speakers were so talented and inspiring. I definitely left with a bigger sense of purpose and major respect for black women who are changing the game and making it happen in so many different spaces. Loved seeing Issa Rae as the keynote speaker in front of a full room.
➡ The Sponsor companies really showed up with the Happy Hours and events. Thank you Ryan Barner and Isaiah Belle for bringing me in with you to some of those, I enjoyed hanging out with you.
Black People You Are Beautiful 🖤
