Rachel Beck is an author, entrepreneur, and retired photographer who currently owns V Lakshmi Author.13 She was born in India and orphaned two days after birth following the mysterious death of her mother. She was then adopted and raised in the United States.3

Beck published a book titled "Finding Your Way: When Life Changes Your Plans" under the pen name V. Lakshmi.12 The book chronicles her uncommon life experiences, including being an orphan from India adopted by an American family, facing racism, dealing with health issues, and experiencing a loss of motherhood.1

As a photographer, Rachel Beck has worked with Global Ministries, particularly photographing the Family Village Farm in India, which was founded by Dr. Pauline King, the person who arranged her adoption.1 She holds a Bachelor's degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Psychology and Gender Studies from Missouri Western State University, graduating in May 2017.3
