If you had told me when I first started working in sports that one day I'd be part of a team that broke records THREE times in one week, I wouldn't have believed you. But that is what we did at ESPN during women's March Madness, and at the Final Four we set a new standard for women's sports from top to bottom on social.
From a planned photo shoot with RockTown Media (a.k.a. Jaison Sterling and his man DJ Jelly Bean) to helping Allie Snow bring her idea of a boombox to life in partnership with the NCAA, the past week was a dream. There's a special kind of satisfaction when you get to see your ideas comes to life after weeks of hard work. To see how well everything was received by our social audiences, colleagues and even people outside of the company was just special.
Shout out to Amanda Anderson, Annie Dunbar and J'Ron Erby for their support in helping us raise the bar for women's basketball so high that it will be tough to top next year. And a special shoutout to Allie Snow for being my co-captain during this monumental movement. I can't wait to see where we take women's basketball and women's sports next!
