Rachel Reese

Rachel Jobe Reese is a highly experienced Director and Curator with a background in modern and contemporary art curation and art education.

With a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from City University of New York and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from The University of Georgia, Reese brings a strong academic foundation to her role.

She has served in various prestigious positions such as the former Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at Telfair Museums in Savannah, GA, where she curated numerous award-winning exhibitions and managed the permanent collection.

Reese's notable projects include solo exhibitions with renowned artists like Carrie Mae Weems, Paul Stephen Benjamin, Nick Cave, and William Wegman, among others.

Her expertise also extends to publications, having authored works on artists such as Ansley West Rivers, Howard Fonda, and Jiha Moon.

In addition to her curatorial roles, Reese has held editorial positions at BURNAWAY magazine and has contributed to publications like BOMB Daily and ART PAPERS.

Furthermore, Reese has shared her knowledge through teaching roles at institutions such as Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Georgia State University.

She has also been actively involved in jurying and guest curating for nonprofit arts organizations.

Currently, Reese serves as the Director and Curator of the Institute of Contemporary Art at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she continues to shape the contemporary art landscape through innovative exhibitions and projects.
