Rachel Rizzuto

Rachel Rizzuto is a choreographer, performer, teacher, and dance writer.1 She is an assistant teaching professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.12 Rizzuto was an editor for Dance Teacher magazine from 2012–2018 and remains a contributing writer for it and Dance Magazine.3 She earned her MFA in dance from the University of Illinois in 2021 and holds a BFA in dance and a BA in English from the University of Southern Mississippi.1

Rizzuto has danced in works by Rebecca Nettl-Fiol, Tere O’Connor, Sara Hook, Jennifer Monson, Renata Sheppard, and Elliot Reza Emadian.1 She also spent nine years dancing for the Brooklyn-based company Mari Meade Dance Collective/MMDC.1 For six Valentine’s Days, Rizzuto self-produced Love Sucks, a dance theatre work.1
