Highlights
Throughout my career, I've been lucky to work with the most cutting-edge companies in the world. Carbon Robotics is a prime example, as they continue to change the world of farming and doing it in the absolute coolest way possible. The impact their laser weeding (yes, lasers) technology will have on farming, food supply, and sustainability is truly incredible.

HOW do you make the case that your company needs a CISO or senior security leader — and that YOU should be that leader? Check out today’s episode of the CISO Series Defense in Depth podcast featuring myself, Radley Meyers, and co-hosts David Spark and LinkedIn CISO Geoff Belknap. Here’s a snapshot from our conversation…
“How can you demonstrate that you’re CISO material?”
✅ Learn the business and BE a business leader. Being a CISO is not solely about technical know-how. So, find mentors that can uplevel you in areas of the business you’re less knowledgeable in.
✅ Get on your CEO’s radar. How? Become an asset & thought partner by helping her/him think through what the business wants and needs from its security leadership.
✅ Illustrate that you understand & can articulate the potential COSTS and RISKS to the business of: ▶︎ Not having a CISO (how does this impact your product and customers?); And also… ▶︎ Adding a security leader to your organization at the right time (framed in terms of the cost upside). ▶︎ Why? CISOs must be able to tell a compelling story to other business leaders in ways everyone understands and responds to.
