Ragib Hasan

Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham

Ragib Hasan is a distinguished full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, specializing in cloud computing, systems security, and database systems. He also serves as the Director of the UAB Center for Cyber Security, overseeing research and education initiatives in cybersecurity.

With a strong academic background, Ragib completed his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Marianne Winslett and Prof. Radu Sion. Prior to his doctoral studies, he pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at the same institution. His academic journey began at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering.

Apart from his roles at UAB, Ragib has held various positions at reputable organizations. He was an NSF Computing Innovation Fellow and Assistant Research Scientist at Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, he worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Google and held multiple Graduate Research Assistant positions, including at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.
