Rahul Panicker is a technology leader and entrepreneur on a mission to leverage AI for social good and impact the next 5 billion. Currently heading AI research at the Wadhwani Institute for AI, an applied-AI research lab focused on developing AI solutions to aid underserved populations in developing countries. With a background that bridges deep technology and good design, Rahul holds a PhD from Stanford University where he delved into machine learning and optics, achieving breakthroughs in transmission speed. His professional journey includes significant roles at prestigious organizations such as SLAC, where he utilized neural networks to manage particle beams. Rahul is also recognized for co-founding Embrace in 2012, a venture that has positively impacted hundreds of thousands of vulnerable infants worldwide. His notable accolades include MIT Technology Review's 35 Innovators under 35, the World Economic Forum's Social Entrepreneur of the Year, and awards from the Industrial Design Society of America.
