Here is the technical details of how 100s of Indian banks were affected by a Ransome attack. Remember this was the same vulnerability CloudSEK warned about one week back.
Some of the community member were not so happy when I disclosed the names of few companies that were under a supply chain attack last week. When I shared about the incident to the public the attackers only had the initial access to victims system and haven’t deployed a ransomweware.
I believe with our reporting a ransom attack was avoided in those companies.
This week the same vulnerability was used to do a supply chain attack on almost 100s of banks in India and deploying ransomeware brining down those systems for a day. Read our full report.

Few years back I used to write emails to media houses and journalists requesting them to hear cloudsek story and if possible write about us. Most emails went unanswered and hardly had any success because of which our visibility was super low. This was very frustrating and disappointing . But I kept writing and engaging with the journalist sending them quarterly updates on what we were building . Slowly and steadily the momentum picked up , media houses started noticing our work and started giving us importance.
Last week I received an email from Times of India that they want to pay me for an article I wrote for them. Good deed and persistence catches up . So always keep pushing forward and eventually the world will notice us.
Note - the money will go to charity.
