American Telemedicine Association (ATA) - AMA PIN Recap

Big shout to Physician Innovation Network (PIN) at the American Medical Association (AMA) for gathering an incredible group of clinician innovators at the American Telemedicine Association (ATA)'s annual summit.

PIN IRL Breakouts I had a blast getting to know Salman Hirani, MD; Gregory Goodman, M.D.; Hansa Bhargava MD; Oren Mechanic, MD, MPH, MBA; Thomas Kim; and Eli Lourie, MD, MBI, FAAP, FAMIA. These folks are pushing innovation in specialty telemedicine (pain management, pediatrics, psychedelics, obesity) and driving progress in clinical informatics, hospital-at-home, and medical news/education.

Thanks to Aditi U Joshi MD, MSc, FACEP; Ryan A. Grant, MD, MS, MBA, FAANS; Michal Tzuchman Katz, MD; Christina Gerdes, MD and others for attending our "PIN IRL" breakout sessions and sharing best practices for optimizing telehealth, the various roads (and struggles) of physician entrepreneurship, creating a healthier environment for alternative payment models (bundles, capitation, P4P) to succeed, the importance of policy and legislative advocacy, and successful implementations of technology by health systems from an informatics lens.

Telehealth Innovators Challenge Judging I was honored to be 1 of the judges of the final round as 11 startups across specialty telemedicine, remote monitoring, women's health, patient experience, and care solutions pitched in 3-mins slots. My go-to questions were "what's the pricing, how are you acquiring customers, and how are you different from competitors?"

Congrats to winners: • Kwamane D. Liddell, JD, MHA, BSN at ThriveLink (telephonic social program enrollment) • Ryan A. Grant, MD, MS, MBA, FAANS at Vori Health (interdisciplinary virtual MSK care) • Eric Dy at Bloomlife Inc (maternal health home monitoring) • Noel Khirsukhani at Andor Health (hospital genAI and virtual nursing) • Tero-Pekka Alastalo at CardioSignal by Precordior (heart disease remote monitoring)

Thanking AMA innovation leadership Margaret Lozovatsky, MD, FAMIA, Amanda Azadian, Jasmine J. Thekkekara and others for organizing these meetups and sessions.
