Rajesh Suri is the Chief Executive Officer and owner of Grand Trunk Road, an award-winning Indian restaurant in London.12 He has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, starting his career with the Oberoi hotel group in India before moving to the UK.2

In the UK, Suri worked with several prestigious establishments, including:

  1. The Michelin-starred Veeraswamy, the UK's longest-running Indian restaurant
  2. The Tamarind Collection, where he was responsible for gaining and maintaining the restaurant's Michelin star for 14 years2

In 2016, Suri opened Grand Trunk Road in South Woodford, East London. The restaurant quickly gained acclaim, being named in the Michelin Guide and winning the Best Indian Restaurant in London award at the Asian Curry Awards.1

Under Suri's leadership, Grand Trunk Road entered Britain's Best Restaurant List and became known for its innovative menu inspired by the historic Grand Trunk Road trade route.13 The restaurant offered a unique culinary experience, combining traditional recipes with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.1

Unfortunately, Suri recently announced the closure of Grand Trunk Road after seven successful years of operation.2
