Dr. Ralph Wharton is a highly accomplished professional with an educational background that includes a BA with Honors in Biology from Harvard College and an MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. His expertise extends to psychoanalysis from Columbia University Psychoanalytic Clinic with a degree in Psychoanalysis in 1969. Dr. Wharton served as the Associate Director of the Department of Experimental Psychiatry at NYState Psychiatric Institute from 1961 to 1970 and as the Co-Director of the Reiner Center for Psychosomatic Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. He is a founding member of the International Society for the Study of Pain and has been recognized for his contributions, including being named Practitioner of the Year at Columbia University Medical Center in 1986. With a wealth of experience, Dr. Wharton has held prestigious positions such as the President of the Society of Practitioners from 1980 to 1982, Senior Consultant in C/L Psychiatry at Presbyterian Hospital in New York, and Past President of the American College of Psychoanalysts. In addition to his professional roles, Dr. Wharton is actively involved in various organizations including the Harvard Club of New York, Lotos Literary Club in NY, and the Century Association in NYC.
