Over the past few weeks at Headout, we’ve been rethinking how we communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process, particularly when we receive hundreds of applications at once and it comes down to sending rejection emails for most of them.

It’s never easy to receive a rejection, but we wanted to ensure that every candidate leaves with a positive experience and valuable resources to continue their career growth. We started by categorizing the types of resumes we receive and providing detailed links for each category to help candidates improve their skills and knowledge.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive! 🥰 Despite the disappointment of not getting the job, candidates have reached out to express their gratitude for the resources we shared. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them happy and motivated to learn and grow.

A special shoutout to Anurag Krishna K B for his exceptional effort in crafting thoughtful and supportive rejection emails with some help from Palaq Ganatra and Amulya Chintaluri. Their dedication to providing a mindful and compassionate approach has made a significant impact on our candidates’ experiences.

Huge kudos to Prathiksha Bhat and Rohnit Rehani for sending personalised rejection mails for brand design hiring as well. It definitely takes a lot of effort in coming up with the right resources to be shared for collective learning. And they have nailed it 🎉

Framing this for our team to live up to each and every candidates' experience and to keep improving this process until we able to help everyone learn and grow!

Have you ever faced the frustration of bugs slipping through the cracks and making their way into production? We certainly did, and we knew there had to be a better way to track and manage these pesky issues.

That's why we built Design QA – a plugin designed to help you easily annotate and track bugs directly within your Figma files. No more jumping between tools or losing track of important feedback. Everything you need is right where you design. This helps you keep a count of the bugs as well so that easier to help your dev friends to push their output to a level where there are lesser bugs in future.

Note: We developed this plugin to address our own challenges, and we hope it proves just as useful for the entire design community. Give it a try, and let us know what you think!

Your feedback is invaluable and will help us improve and evolve the plugin.

All kudos to Debanwita Mahato for building this and to Mukul Chaturvedi for coming up with the process. 🤩🔥
