Shoutout to the attendee of an upcoming workshop who sent me a clear & actionable note on how best to accommodate their needs: They use a wheelchair and their eyeline is appx 2 feet lower than many other peoples', so whiteboards and post-it note group activities should be arranged or adjusted accordingly. It can also be difficult to project their voice into conversation with lots of people standing.
They're also dyslexic, so have asked for the materials to be provided in advance, and to be screen-reader friendly.
As a trainer/consultant, it's important that my sessions are valuable to all attendees. It's very easy to accommodate for all of these things, but some of them might not have occurred to me. It shouldn't be the burden of responsibility to have to ask for accessibility to be considered - but it's very much appreciated, and I'll be adjusting my practices.
