Join Jim Miller this Saturday : Sales Is Dead

You will never change the mind of your prospect if you are applying technical solutions to adaptive problems.

According to Dr. Robert Kegan in his book Immunity To Change, we must understand that there is an "emotional ecology" which underlies the challenges that humans face. Our resistance to change is not a result of circumstances that can be ameliorated by applying solutions outside of change that must take place in the individual. Solutions such as price drops, urgency pressure, social proof, gifts often fall way short of addressing the true issue underlying the resistance you're facing to your offer.

Instead, Kegan suggests that an adaptive formulation of the problem must be first applied. The challenge that your prospect faces in making a decision is because of their own limits of their mental complexity. This is an internal issue that you get to examine with your prospect in order to facilitate them through their resistance. Maybe they are uncertain of attaining their own success in your program. Maybe they are unclear of the process by which they will improve. Maybe they are untrusting of you. Maybe they don't feel worthy of participation. There are so many possibilities that underlie the challenges they face in choosing to go forward.

We will examine this and reveal a "conversational construct" that will enable you to create an adaptive formulation of the challenges faced by your prospects, and create adaptive solutions which will result in greater ability to move forward into engagement.
