"If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden" ―Frances Hodgson Burnett

The Guardian needed 3 journalists - and what does look like a lot of research to start this OpEd with a terribly forced narrative… the reason #oliveoil prices have blown through the roof in the UK over the last 2YRS+ cannot be only attributed to bleeding #BREXIT (you know who you are) nor indeed the conflict zones in #ukraine and #gaza… the cost of living crisis I can see and feel is having an impact… but it just makes me cringe and be super cynical with the following factoids when they kick it all off with a paper thin argument.
#oliveoil prices have been going up globally year-on-year for over a decade due to increasing demand and a more maturing market place, and a supply made more compact due to multiple climate shocks, flooding, fires and crop damage due to over intensive monoculture farming practices which have aggravated conditions for pest infestations… now if any of those three super journalists had done any basic research they would have ample evidence pointing at this…
But then it wouldn’t fit the somewhat liberal narrative of rising supermarket costs… I mean what was wrong with the “price of milk and bread”
Pick the comic you want to read that backs up your own political afflictions and bias…
