Rea Baxmann

Product Manager at Humu

Rea Baxmann is an Applied Mathematics graduate who transitioned into a role as a Product Manager, specializing in data products and Software as a Service (SaaS). Currently, Rea is dedicated to enhancing workplaces globally as part of the team at Humu.

Rea's professional journey began in an analytics startup focusing on eCommerce data analysis. This experience highlighted their passion for product improvement and working directly with customers. Realizing their strength lay in being a generalist, Rea pivoted towards product management.

In their role within an AI/ML team, Rea primarily focused on internal APIs, collaborating closely with engineers and data scientists. They thrived in this meta-space of product development, always prioritizing the end user's needs.

At Humu, Rea leverages behavioral science to optimize employee behavior across various industries through nudges. Their work remains technically challenging and enjoyable by collaborating with technical experts while maintaining a customer-centric approach.

I left Humu last month after an incredible year. The culture there was something special, right from onboarding to everyday work dynamics. I had the chance to work alongside some truly brilliant, driven, funny, and empathetic colleagues, and I look forward to crossing paths with them again in the future. I’m particularly proud of the work we did with the Infrastructure and Tooling team, digging deep into complex behind-the-scenes projects.

A shoutout to a few wonderful folks at Humu (#cheersforpeers): Trevor Biller, thank you for being my EM partner in crime; to the entire InT team for your patience as we unraveled complexities; Jenna Reed Barb and Sarah Rosales-Hunt for your constant encouragement; Rachel Callan and Allison White for enlightening me on Behavioral Science; Molly Sands, PhD, for being a fantastic PM (and personal) role model and mentor; Megan Lily Gao, the best onboarding buddy I could have asked for; Lynn Zhang, the mastermind behind Humu’s culture; and of course, Will Doolittle, for welcoming me into the team.

Now, it’s time for me to recharge. As our lives become increasingly fast-paced, it’s important to slow down and take care of our well-being. So, I’m doing exactly that. This summer, you’ll find me outside as much as possible, hiking, biking, camping, and even gardening. Knowing myself, I might pick up a few volunteer gigs along the way, too.

Although I’m not actively looking for new opportunities until later this year, I believe in the power of connections. I’m eager to maintain and build relationships and excited to explore what’s next when I return in the fall or winter. Whether it’s to discuss potential opportunities or simply to catch up, feel free to reach out.
