Rebecca Amato is an experienced Engagement Director with a background in higher education and cultural organizations. She excels in Public Humanities Project Management, Public Programs, Partnership Building, Research, Museums, and Archives. Her education includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in U.S. History from City University of New York Graduate Center, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Cinema and Cultural Studies from New York University, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Radio, Television, and Film from Northwestern University.

Rebecca has held several important positions in various organizations, including being the Director of Teaching & Learning at Illinois Humanities, an Associate Faculty at Gallatin and a former Associate Director of Civic Engagement Initiatives and the Urban Democracy Lab at New York University, an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow at the Museum of the City of New York, a Class Adviser and Associate Faculty member at New York University, and a Durst Research Scholar at the American Social History Project.
