Deputy Director, Climate Resilience Practice at World Resources Institute

Rebecca Carter is a creative and effective thought leader with a background in Cultural/Applied Anthropology from the University of Arizona.

She is a global explorer with expertise in Climate Change, Biodiversity, Sustainable Development, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Management.

Rebecca currently holds the position of Deputy Director in the Climate Resilience Practice at the World Resources Institute.

Her previous roles include being a Foreign Service Environment Officer at USAID/Philippines, Adaptation Manager at ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability, and Climate Change Analyst at Sonoran Institute.

Rebecca has also served as a Socioeconomics Researcher/Project Manager and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Climate Assessment for the Southwest (CLIMAS), and as a Graduate Research Assistant at CLIMAS.

She is known for mobilizing expeditions to chart new territories and engaging unlikely partners in the quest for a better future.

Rebecca is a diligent truth-seeker, perseverant advocate, compassionate circus master, rigorous researcher, and a skilled juggler of projects, budgets, deadlines, and challenges.
