I’ve been fortunate to spend most of my career at entrepreneurial places where part of our charge was to act like we owned the place. I feel extra lucky to have joined broadhead., where I actually AM an owner, along with my colleagues. #esop

Having skin in the game isn’t the half of it though. From my very first casual convo with Steve Renier to subsequent conversations with the PR team and agency leaders to my first few weeks at the agency, there’s a spirit here that’s tough to put into words even for a woman who words for a living. People work hard, collaborate easily, talk directly, meet efficiently, compliment often and joyfully come to the office three days a week (lots come all five!). I’m thrilled to be here. And oh, we’re hiring! #independentagency #hybridworkplace

At Fast Horse we have two mandatory in-office days to collaborate, mentor and just generally have a chance to bullshit with one another in person.

The word mandatory, like our approach to most things, is full of do-what-works flexibility. Yesterday, Jorg Pierach declared a remote snow day well in advance of today's eight inches of fresh pow. Last week, my team was pitching a story like mad before the holiday and on Monday night we decided to save ourselves an hour and stay heads down in our home offices to focus on that. No one raised an eyebrow at no showing a mandatory day on a short week.

After two years at home, I was hella resistant to the idea of a return to office. But because I'm comfortable admitting I was wrong, I'm more than okay letting everyone know I'm lovin' it. The little office rituals are welcomed. Reconnecting with my BFF Michael Barbaro on the commute, grabbing a fancy coffee, lingering in a room after a meeting to chat, laugh, trade books, shows or campaigns we're into. It's been...really lovely.

My quiet realization is that it was never the idea of in-person that I grappled with. It was having a say in the how, why and when of mandatory. We have clear days to rally around but if there's a reason to stay home, we have that freedom too. #worklikeanadult #culturematters
