DON’T FIX WOMEN 💜💪🏾💜

Title of Joy Burnford’s book and keynote speaker at our latest event here at M&S.

Opening the event was our new Chief Digital & Technology Officer Rachel Higham who we are so lucky to have on board; Rachel really gets the GEN mission we are on and brings a wealth of experience in this domain.

We also collaborated with partners Women in Data® and had several external guests join us in the room.

I had the privilege of hosting the panel discussion itself, joined by Krista Nordlund Fiona Sweeney Joy Burnford Maebh Booth Louisa McCarron the conversation was full of depth, wisdom and actionable insights that the audience could take away, as well as leaning into longer term more systemic issues that need to change.

Actually too many nuggets of wisdom and insights to document here so I’ll end with a quote

“Don’t clean the goldfish, clean the water”

And huge shout out to GEN superstars and co organisers Rachel Pollard Louise Baird Philippa Knipe

Today definitely feels like one of hope,

✅ new government ✅ 242 female MPs ✅ higher female representation than ever before ✅ very honest, humble and realistic opening speech by Kier Starmer ✅ first female chancellor ✅ female deputy PM

There is a lot of work to be done but I am most definitely celebrating the rise in female representation in government today. This gives me hope.

Other then fleeting moments, in my whole life I have never seen a female leader in this country; this is about creating balance and ensuring all voices and views are heard and represented. An exciting step forward!

Ps. I started an account on instragram and need some new followers, catch me here:
