Reel AHMED is a highly educated individual with a diverse academic background. He studied at Brighton, Hove & Sussex Sixth Form College (BHASVIC) for his initial education. Moving on to higher education, Reel achieved a BSc in Biochemistry with a 2.1 at Royal Holloway, University of London. He further pursued his academic endeavors by completing an MA in Social Development with Distinction at the University of Sussex.

Reel AHMED has an extensive professional background with experiences across various well-known organizations. Currently, he serves as a Climate Change Adviser at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. In the past, he held significant roles such as Climate Adaptation and Early Action Manager (secondment) at the British Red Cross, Disaster Management Coordinator in East and Southern Africa at British Red Cross, and REAP and Climate Action Project Coordinator at British Red Cross. Additionally, he has also worked as a Disaster Management Delegate at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and served as a Global Response Officer at British Red Cross.

Beyond his work in disaster management and climate-related roles, Reel AHMED has also contributed to various other sectors. He has worked in media and public relations at Transparency International, served with RESULTS UK, and gained experience as a Campaigns Volunteer at International HIV/AIDS Alliance. His volunteer experiences include positions such as a Volunteer Receptionist, Administrator, and Welfare Officer at the Terrence Higgins Trust. Through these diverse roles, Reel has developed a well-rounded skill set and a deep understanding of various humanitarian and social development issues.
