"Arc of The Sun" a Multimodal "Minds Eye" by Moi. The "Mind's Eye" is the ability to use our brains to visualize past experiences or future imaginings in the absence of visual input. Far out right? For those ensconced in the potential applications of Multimodal LLMs and Generative AI it's actually not that far out but rather right on! The Minds Eye is an extraordinary feature composed of evolutionary, sociological, psychological, biological and cognitive computational processing. It combines all five of our senses + intuition into multimodal mood-scapes of sorts. In Generative AI we are just now learning how to translate our biological Minds Eye into ever increasingly accurate mechanical renderings. We live in a world governed by the din of digital interaction, information overload and the growing absence of actua face to facel experience. I see the ability for each of us to project and receive our Minds Eye as an AI assisted way of "feeling" at each other. A mode of speaking without having to to say anything at all. It strikes me as a step function and exponentially urgently critical component of the man/machine revolution. Super AI wouldn't be so intimidating if our own noggins were evolving as fast as the ones we create. Generative AI Minds Eye Imagery is a means of unleashing the 98% of all human reasoning that lies in our collective subconscious. The experience of sensing the world and one another - something machines can never do. For that reason I stand firm that AI Minds Eye imaging is the most profound, practical and pressing application for Generative AI.
