🏗️ Building ajent.ai - Step 2: Interviews

Picture this: You found a problem you want to solve. You start coding like a mad scientist, convinced you have the solution. But there was a nagging doubt – were we building something people actually wanted? You later discover that users didn't understand your product or stopped using it after some time. This isn't a marketing issue. More likely, you didn't fully understand the problem or didn't focused on the crucial part of it. We experienced this too. We developed an AI chatbot to enhance customer support, only to learn that users didn't trust AI enough to utilize it.

Talking to potential users is the best way to learn whether they experience the same problem, and what they're doing to solve it. The first step is to create a persona, that way you can identify right away whether a user fits your scope or not.

The questions you ask are also very important. It’s important to stay objective in interviews, as that benefits your understanding of the problem. The book "The Mom Test" is all about asking the right questions. It's not about fishing for compliments; it's about understanding what's in people's heads. Instead of asking: Would you use such a kind of product / Would you use this feature? You can ask: How often do you use this and this now? Book summary 👉 https://lnkd.in/epknky7x

You'll likely start noticing patterns between experiences after just the first two interviews. These patterns shape the framework for the solution you're going to build. At this point, you can begin designing concepts for validation.

Next week, I'll discuss the techniques and tools we use to design and validate the software we develop. Read first update here: https://lnkd.in/e3ucS_b5
