Co-Founder at She Loves Tech - WEF Global Shaper - Tatler’s Gen.T
Rhea See is the Co-Founder and CEO of She Loves Tech, the world's largest startup acceleration platform for women and technology.12 She co-founded the organization with Virginia Tan and Leanne Robers in 2015, initially launching it as a pitch competition in China to provide a platform for women entrepreneurs in technology.12
She Loves Tech aims to close the funding gap for women entrepreneurs and has set a goal to catalyze $1 billion in funding for women founders by 2030.2 The organization runs an annual global startup competition, provides acceleration programs, and is in the process of setting up its own fund focused on investing in female tech founders in Southeast Asia.2
Rhea See's background includes experience working in a non-profit foundation and being seconded to a Private Equity fund, which exposed her to the disparity in gender representation in the tech and investment sectors.2 This experience, combined with her passion for technology and innovation, motivated her to create a platform that showcases women's contributions to technology and entrepreneurship.12
Under Rhea's leadership, She Loves Tech has grown significantly over the past decade, now receiving around 5,000 startup applications annually.2 The organization not only focuses on providing funding opportunities but also on building a comprehensive ecosystem for women founders, including mentorship, visibility, and skill development.2
Highlights
In a blink of an eye, the She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition is 8 years old. When we started in 2015, we never imagined that She Loves Tech would grow to where it is today - being the world’s largest startup competition and acceleration platform for women and technology, in over 70 countries globally. And yet, there's still so much to be done. At She Loves Tech, we are normalizing the idea of a successful, investible #femalefounder. We are putting women front and center, up on stage, and in front of investors. We are breaking the bias that women don’t build good businesses by making them impossible to ignore, impossible to dismiss. The results speak for themselves – companies have raised more than USD $300m after going through our programs.
