Richard Hanbury is the CEO and founder of Sana Health Inc., a company that develops a neuromodulation platform designed for pain relief and deep relaxation.134 He created the technology behind Sana Health to address his own chronic pain resulting from a spinal cord injury he sustained in a jeep accident in Yemen in 1992.14 The original device he created eliminated his nerve damage pain within three months.14

Hanbury's educational background includes an MBA in Healthcare from the Wharton School and a Diploma in Law from the College of Law, London.134 Prior to founding Sana Health, he worked at McKinsey & Company and co-founded Easymatch, an estate agency software system.13

Sana Health utilizes pulsed light and sound along with a heart rate variability feedback loop to guide users into a state of deep relaxation.14 The company has completed clinical trials for Opioid Use Disorder and Fibromyalgia and is launching in Fibromyalgia.1 They are also conducting studies on neuropathic pain, treatment-resistant depression, and PTSD.24
