I could, no, will, make the argument that Dick Cavett had a very large hand in creating the digital age. Based upon his unique, highly recognizable voice, and his position as an "intellectual", I hired him in 1980 to make radio commercials for a start up called Apple. It was a sensationally successful (and very cheap) campaign, and set forever the tone of Apple's brand. Apple's a $Trillion market cap company today. We knew way back then, based on the success of the Cavett voice, and its special positioning of what Apple was all about, it would be so:-)
