Carl Icahn's #BigShort has ended with a big womp womp.
Green Street's Commercial Mortgage Alert exclusively reports that Icahn - whose five-year bet against the #mall sector created bitter recriminations between the billionaire and some #CMBS pros - collapsed some $3B of trades within the past two weeks. Sources surmised the bet was no longer worth the expensive monthly payments to him.
While bank dealers were tight-lipped about the colossal transaction, several bond pros said only Icahn had so many chips on the table. “Realistically,” one said, it “could only be him.”
