Highlights
Africa reaches out to those in Maryland who have been affected by the Francis Scott Key Bridge accident. We think of the grieving families and communities at this time. The City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland will rebuild. Baltimore will continue to shine as goods traverse the port to and from the rest of the world. Our team in Africa, representing the State of Maryland Department of Commerce, stands by those who are missing loved ones. Through the sorrow, we are mindful of those planning to make this world a better place in rebuilding into a greater day ahead. Opened in January 1999 in Johannesburg, South Africa, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers (then the Council of Great Lakes Governors) celebrates 25 years in Africa, assisting companies from the Great Lakes of North America to enter this fast growing emerging market. The States of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin were quickly joined by New York, Pennsylvania and later Minnesota. Our team later opened the Caribbean office in 2020. I would like to personally thank all the many staff who have made our GSGP team, now in 16 countries across Africa and 9 in the Caribbean (with our partner Gedeth Network Juan Millan Mateu), successful in helping export companies toward their global sales goals. Our team has assisted with over 2,700 in-market projects for American exporters. We have made many friends along the way and look forward to making many more!
