Rick Presman is a first-year Ph.D. candidate in the Statistical Science Department at Duke University with keen interests in Bayesian networks, nonparameterics, high-dimensional statistics, and matrix methods. He recently attained his M.S. in Statistics from the University of Chicago, where he honed practical and coding skills including machine learning, and dealt with theoretical problems in his thesis. Before pursuing his graduate studies, Rick worked as a consultant at Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) in the financial services sector.
