Rik Leaf is a prominent figure in Canada renowned for his role as a leader in Creative Development Mentorships that aim to enhance creative capacity in various communities.
His programs focus on helping individuals discover their strengths, develop their skill sets, and build the confidence necessary for success, particularly beneficial for educators, non-profit organizations, and Indigenous communities with limited resources.
As the Creative Director of Tribe of One, a national arts collective, Rik specializes in Multi-Cultural Presentations & Performance Workshops that blend First Nations, Metis, French/English, and settler cultures through modern art forms, offering rich learning experiences for educators, conferences, and festivals.
With a diverse background, Rik is also recognized as a Producer, Performer, Published Author, and Slam Poet, having collaborated on various creative projects over two decades, including music productions, TV shows, short films, podcasts, Indigenous theatre presentations, and publications featuring renowned artists like Metallica, Bryan Adams, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
In his role as Operations Manager for the SPRING RIDGE-FERNWOOD COMMUNITY HOUSING LAND TRUST, a non-profit organization in Victoria dedicated to providing affordable housing for low-income residents, Rik has made significant contributions to community development.
Before relocating to the West Coast, Rik made a name for himself in Winnipeg through his involvement with the North End Artists Collective, hosting The Artist Next Door TV series, and organizing events for JUST Artists, earning a nomination for the Making a Difference Award at the Mayor's Gala Event in 2009.
Throughout his career, some of Rik's achievements include touring war-torn countries with acclaimed artist Bruce Cockburn, the United Nations, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, as well as winning the Spirit of Canada Songwriting Competition in 2011.
Rik holds a Diploma in Career Management in Arts & Cultural Industries, an Advanced Level III in Wine Steward/Sommelier, Advanced certification from WSET, and training in Sound Engineering and Studio Recording from Camtek Industries.
