Rik Sowden is an experienced historical interpreter, living historian, and heritage professional who has collaborated with esteemed heritage organizations like the National Trust and Birmingham Museums Trust, as well as with professional interpreters and educators. With a passion for history, Rik excels in both educating and entertaining audiences about the past, poised to share this enthusiasm on a broader scale.

Rik's academic journey includes a Master of Research (MRes) in Early-modern History and a Bachelor's Degree with First Class Honours in War Studies, both from the University of Birmingham. Additionally, he completed High School with outstanding achievements in Access to Higher Education (Combined Studies) at Bournville College.

Professionally, Rik Sowden has served as a historical consultant and interpreter at Historic Echoes, significantly contributing to the organization's initiatives. He also held notable positions at Birmingham Museums Trust, where he worked as both a Senior Museum Enabler and Museum Enabler. Rik's expertise extends to engaging with audiences as a Schoolmaster at Shakespeare's Schoolroom and Guildhall, as well as utilizing his administrative skills as an Undergraduate Admissions Administrator at the University of Birmingham.
